ScanScanScan3D, 3D Scanning Experts

You’re not buying a box.

Steve Cory was one of the first resellers of Artec 3D scanners in North America, when owner of Objex Unlimited Inc. He has sold many Artec 3D Scanners and completed hundreds of scanning projects across a variety of industries.

He founded ScanScanScan3D to keep participating in the exciting and enjoyable world of 3D scanning. Selling and supporting such a fine product as Artec 3D Scanners is very rewarding. Scanning is fun!

The track record

Mobile scanning on site

We’ve scanned just about anything you can think of. Our specialty is art and sculpture, and high-detail full-colour objects, but we scan mechanical parts too. We definitely like a challenge.

01

Where the scanners went

We support Artec 3D Scanners in a variety of industries — shipbuilding, visual effects, mining and heavy equipment, foundries and casting shops, manufacturing and reverse engineering, metrology and positioning, museums and heritage, archaeology, prosthetics, military and construction — across Canada, coast to coast.

02

And what we’ve scanned

Faces, ears and hands for prosthetics. Sculpture and heritage artifacts. Tooling, moulds, machinery, vehicles and vehicle parts. Boats, tanks and motorcycles. Bottles and moulded components for manufacturers. Props and toys. Electrical vaults, small rooms, and whole sites with LiDAR. Actors and celebrities. Sports equipment. Chip bags. Various foodstuffs, including shawarmas and pulled pork sandwiches. And diapers — which are far harder than you’d think.

That’s the part a spec sheet can’t tell you

When you have a real challenge and you need some help, you want the person on the other end of the phone to have already been there.

Why choose us

Three words, in this order

Support, expertise, experience. That’s what you’re actually paying for.

Support

Training when you buy. Then the part that actually matters: we support you, for as long as you own the scanner.

WE ANSWER THE PHONE.

Expertise

Across industries and across Canada — art, heritage, industrial, VFX, metrology, reverse engineering. The first call for troubleshooting or problem solving is your reseller. You want them to be able to help, then and there.

Experience

Fifteen years running these scanners on paying work, not demoing them at trade shows. Ask what breaks, what’s slow, and what we’d buy instead.

Certification

Gold Certified

Artec certifies its partners by examination, and does it again every year.

Artec 3D Gold Certified Partner

Gold certification is not a logo handed out for signing a reseller agreement. It is a test set by Artec’s own training and support team, covering the entire professional product line — every scanner and the software — on the equipment itself and on knowing how to use it.

It is reassessed annually, so it has to be re-earned rather than kept. Worldwide, fewer than a hundred companies hold Gold or Ambassador status.

What that is worth to you is narrow and specific: when you call with a problem, the person who answers has been examined on this equipment by the people who make it.

Artec 3D publishes its list of Gold-certified Partners and Ambassadors each year. See the most recent announcement from Artec 3D.

You’re buying support and service, not just a machine and some software

Tell us what you need to capture and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
